Kelley Blue Book Lauds the FCA Commitment to Full-Size Sedan Tradition in the New 2018 Chrysler 300

As the word of an auto research and valuation expert goes, that of the Web arm of the authority carries with it a fair amount of clout. Regarding the latest Chrysler luxury sedan, KBB.com didn't mince words.

New for 2018, Chrysler added to its 300 lineup a base Touring and Touring L model, to be sure, and they did join favorites like the celebrated 300S and Limited trims. But when it came down to details, it was clear that KBB appreciated 2018 Chrysler 300 across the board. Standout features abounded.

For one, the "heart-stopping acceleration" of the new sedan's optional 363-horsepower, 5.7-liter HEMI V8. Standard on the apex-tier Chrysler 300C trim, it quickly became favorite among the experts, and one, they asserted, well above and beyond even capably equipped rivals like Chevy Impala, Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus.

Further, the ride quality showed itself one "comfortable, quiet and powerful," with "plenty of gusto, even from [the luxury car's] standard V6." Of course, we're willing to bet that the eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, billed "smooth and precise," had much to do with that, as did the four-door's "outstanding" straight-line performance. A favorite Kelley Blue Book feature: all-wheel drive, uncommon among new sedans and available on four of five trims.

Of course, we can't forget the reviewer's appreciation of the car's "unique combination of full-size, five-passenger comfort [and] elegant and well-appointed interior." There was plenty to thank for that accolade, from leather seating available heated, ventilated, and eight-way power-adjustable for the driver to the human-centric cockpit and compartment overall. Therein, one can find standards from a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and an easy-to-use rotary shift knob, flanking a 7-inch driver information display, to a sizable six-speaker 8.4-inch Uconnect® 4C touch-screen infotainment system. The new Chrysler 300 even offers generous rear legroom and an enormous trunk to boot, weighing in at more than 16 cubic feet and perfect for any central California road trip.
