What's New for 2022?

Ram has added the option to upgrade to that sophisticated suspension even at the base Tradesman trim level, and air springs are also available on the base model. The latest Ram 1500 comes standard with a twelve-inch touchscreen, and the newest Ram possesses multiple compartments in the cargo bed and a split-folding tailgate.

Also, new include a new optional sporty G/T package for the Laramie and Rebel trims, plus the BackCountry and 10th Anniversary Editions. The BackCountry is the off-road package for the Big Horn and Lone Star trim levels. The 10th Anniversary Edition is an optional package for the Limited trim level.

The G/T package will add a cold-air intake, paddle shifters, a console-mounted shifter, and an upgraded exhaust system for the Laramie trim level and the Ram Rebel.

HFE

Performance

The Ram 1500 offers several engine choices, including multiple engines assisted by a 48-volt hybrid system. It has a 5.7-liter V8 engine that you can order without the hybrid powertrain, and the EcoDiesel is a 3.0-liter V6 that offers up to 480 pound-feet of torque. All Ram 1500 trucks can come with either coil springs (standard) or air springs (optional). The Ram 1500 with the air spring system will feature adjustable ride heights.

The Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped and offers a maximum payload of 2,320 pounds.

Interior

The Ram 1500 is surprisingly spacious, with ample room for five passengers. Even lower trims have a lot of "creature comforts," including heated seats and a panoramic sunroof. Ram uses the Uconnect infotainment system, and most models offer access to software that can connect with one's smartphone - Apple CarPlay for iPhone and Android Auto for all others. Bluetooth is standard, and most Ram 1500s offer a mobile hotspot.

Safety Features

Most safety features, including driver assists, are available on mid-level trims and above. However, lane-keeping assist and lane-departure warnings are standard across the trims.
